How it is made

Four steps, one set of hands

No mass production and no mystery alloys. Each blade is forged, heat-treated and finished by the same smith who signs the tang.

  1. Forge & shape Steel is brought to critical heat and drawn out under a power hammer to set the profile.
  2. Normalize & quench Three cycles relieve stress, then an oil quench locks in a hard, wear-resistant edge.
  3. Grind & polish Hollow and flat grinds are cut by hand, then polished through five grits.
  4. Haft & sharpen Handles are fitted, pinned and sealed before a final leather-strop edge.

Great training companion

Pairs nicely with the longsword for drills. The guard is a little heavy for a main gauche but it protects the hand well.

Solid folder, zero play

Lockup is bank-vault tight and the D2 blade has kept its edge through a season of trail work. Clip sits deep and low.

Axe bites deep

Split a cord of seasoned oak with it over a weekend. The hickory haft absorbed the shock and the edge never rolled. Real working tool.
